Running Pace Calculator
fitness calculator
How It Works
The calculator converts your total time into seconds and divides it by the distance to find your pace — the time it takes to cover one kilometer and one mile. It also flips the calculation to express the same effort as speed in km/h and mph. Because it reports both pace and speed in metric and imperial units at once, you can plan training and predict race finish times whatever system you train in.
Formula
Pace = Total Time ÷ Distance Speed = Distance ÷ Time
Examples
10 km in 50 minutes
5:00 min/km pace, 12 km/h.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good running pace?
For recreational runners, 6:00-7:00 min/km (about 10-11 min/mile) is common. Faster runners hit 4:30-5:30 min/km. Your ideal pace depends on fitness, distance, and goals.
How do I calculate marathon finish time?
Multiply your target pace by the distance. For a marathon (42.195 km) at 6:00 min/km, your finish time would be about 4 hours 13 minutes.
